The first official Notorious B.I.G. NFT collection was announced on Wednesday, with a portion of the ensuing proceeds set to be put toward the Christopher Wallace Memorial Foundation. The collection sees Green Web3 company OneOf celebrating Biggies life and legacy in partnership with the late artists estate for a collection that will be minted on Tezos, which self-describes its approach to the NFT space as one that is significantly more energy efficient than competitors.

We are excited about our partnership with OneOf and their expertise to memorialize my son Christopher with this first official NFT drop to give his fans an opportunity to participate in and honor their love of him and his music, Voletta Wallace, Biggies mother, said in a statement.

The concept behind the Biggie NFT collection was created Willingie, Inc.s Elliot Osagie and Volettas manager Wayne Barrow. Per the latest press release, additional info on the collection will be unveiled soon, though a landing page is already live and provides fans with the option to sign up for future updates on the project.

Per OneOf COO and co-founder Josh James, it was an honor to work with Biggies estate on a project in celebration of the incredible legacy of the Life After Death artist.

Using NFT technology, Biggies legacy and his outsized impact on music and culture will be forever cemented on blockchain, to be honored and shared with fans around the world and for generations to come, James added.

Last month, Biggie fans were alerted to the upcoming arrival of a 25th Anniversary Super Deluxe Box Set edition of the aforementioned Life After Death, Biggies posthumously released final album that this month marks 25 years since its release. This year also marks what would have been Biggies 50th birthday. On March 9, 1997, the influential artist was fatally shot in Los Angeles at the age of 24.
