Kamala Harris mistakenly refers to Notorious BIG when talking about RBG
It was a Notorious blunder by Kamala Harris. Democratic vice presidential nominee Kamala Harris ended up mistakenly referring to Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg as the 'Notorious B.I.G.' during a speech on Monday. 'She was part of our culture,' Harris said. 'Yes, we wear those Notorious B.I.G. t-shirts with a lot of pride, but since she passed, there are parents reminding their children that she helped their lives.'
The California senator had been attempting to refer to Ginsburg's nickname, frequently used in pop culture and even branded upon items of clothing as 'The Notorious RBG'.
Harris has been criticized repeatedly by the Trump campaign for not taking questions from reporters at campaign events. One of the critics Monday was the media reporter for The Hill, Joe Concha, who pointed out that since being named as Biden's running mate, Harris has not held a press conference.
After the speech she was interviewed on MSNBC by 10pm host Lawrence O'Donnell.
Harris had been known as one of the Democratic senators who spoke regularly to reporters on Capitol Hill before she was named as running mate. The Trump campaign has repeatedly accused both Biden and Harris of dodging questions and compared them to Trump, although on Monday he too ended a speech at the White House without taking questions from reporters who had been invited to attend.
However it was her mix-up of the late Supreme Court justice and the late great rapper Notorious B.I.G., which gained more online attention.
